Banque Postale du Congo (BPC) joins the UN Principles for Responsible Banking
Brazzaville, January 2026 – Banque Postale du Congo (BPC) has officially become a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Banking (PRB), the global framework developed by the banking industry in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI).
By joining the Principles for Responsible Banking, Banque Postale du Congo commits to aligning its business strategy, operations and products with society’s objectives, as reflected in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement. This commitment supports the Bank’s ambition to place sustainability at the heart of its activities and to contribute to a more inclusive, resilient and forward-looking economy.
The Principles for Responsible Banking provide a framework that enables banks to identify and manage the environmental and social impacts of their activities, set priorities where they can have the greatest impact, engage transparently with stakeholders and report regularly on their progress. This approach allows banks to better understand risks and opportunities associated with the transition towards sustainable development.
As a proximity bank with a strong focus on financial inclusion, Banque Postale du Congo actively supports households, local authorities and businesses—particularly small and medium-sized enterprises—in their contribution to sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
Through this commitment, Banque Postale du Congo joins a global community of banks working collectively to strengthen the role of the financial sector in addressing climate change, social inequalities and long-term economic resilience.
